Watsu
(above water)
WATSU® has captivated many individuals due to its unique approach to well-being. It’s a form of aquatic bodywork that offers unparalleled relaxation and comprehensive healing. This practice was first developed in the 1980s by Harold Dull, a massage therapist and Zen Shiatsu practitioner. The term "Watsu" combines "Water" and "Shiatsu," integrating principles from both Eastern and Western healing methods.

Performed in comfortably warm, shallow water maintained around 34-35 degrees Celsius, WATSU® utilizes a combination of gentle stretches, joint mobilization, and specialized massage techniques. Professionals skillfully support the client's body, moving and stretching it through the water. The warmth of the water aids in muscle and joint relaxation, while the buoyancy promotes a liberating range of movement.
WATSU® prioritizes breath control—an essential component that enhances relaxation and mental clarity. It is adaptable for people of all ages and physical abilities, serving as an effective therapy for various physical and mental conditions, such as chronic pain, arthritis, anxiety, and depression. Practitioners use gentle pressure and specific movements to relieve muscle tension, boost vital energy, and improve flexibility and range of motion.
WATSU®'s appeal lies in its exceptional ability to promote relaxation and healing. Athletes, dancers, performers, or anyone seeking to improve their well-being can benefit from personalized sessions tailored to meet individual needs.
I offer a wide array of workshops, covering WATSU® Basic to WATSU® 3, Adaptive WATSU® 3, DUO.WATSU, WATSU for pregnancy, WATSU for babies and families, and WATSU with clinical applications.
